GREAT BEND -- Phyllis June McCulley, 87, passed away June 30, 2018, at Cherry Village Nursing Home, Great Bend.
She was born April 2, 1931, in Ness County, to Gaston and Rosie (Ross) Young. She married James William McCulley, June 18, 1950 at Ness City, Kan.
Coming from Ness City to Great Bend in 1960, Phyllis was a homemaker who loved the Lord and shared Jesus with everyone. She was a member of Central Baptist Church and attended Grace Community Church. She was a Sunday School teacher and held memberships in the Women’s Christian Temperance Union and White Cross Missions. She sang in the church choir and was active in the Central Baptist Clothing Bank. Phyllis also had a love for exercise, playing bridge, camping, traveling and the Girl Scouts.
Survivors include, her husband, James W. McCulley, of the home; sons, Kelly McCulley of Hudson and Karl McCulley and wife Brenda, Great Bend; daughters, Kathy Tacha and Max Mizer, Jennings; and Karen Stewart and husband Clay, Great Bend; sister, Joyce Kraft, Lakewood, Colo.; six grandchildren, Korey and Kiefer McCulley, Kayla May, Miranda Shoemaker, Keegan and Grace McCulley; and one great-granddaughter, Alara McCulley.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Krug.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2018, at Bryant Funeral Home with Pastor Jay Beuoy presiding. Interment will be at the Ness City Cemetery at 3 p.m. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday, July 5, 2018, with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bryant Funeral Home.
