EL DORADO — R. Lorraine Holmes, 81, of El Dorado, died Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011 at Lakepoint Nursing Center, El Dorado. 
She was born July 3, 1930 in Bazine, the daughter of Warren and Esther McFadden O’Brien. 
She graduated from Great Bend High School. She married Keith Holmes in Great Bend June 9, 1952. He preceded her in death on Jan. 6, 2011.
She worked in the county clerk’s office and the treasurer’s office in Barton County. She moved to El Dorado in 1982. Lorraine was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church; Daughters of Isabella; TOPS; and the Altar Society.
Survivors include her children and their spouses — Jan and Allan Milbradt, Augusta; Jon and Annie Holmes, Wellington; Christy and Roland Davis, El Dorado; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Vera O’Brien, Topeka.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Keith; a daughter Lorna; and two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services are scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8 at St. John’s Catholic Church, El Dorado. Visitation with the family is scheduled from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday followed by the recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. at Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado. The rosary will also be recited at 10 a.m. Tuesday before the Mass at St. John’s Catholic Church.
