GREAT BEND – Ralph E. Batman, 76, died May 29, 2013 at Great Bend Regional Hospital.
He was born Oct. 2, 1936 at Great Bend, the son of Ralph Ermin and Martha Frances (Brown) Batman.
He married Lucille Johnson Sept. 13, 1981 at Wilson. She died Dec. 4, 2012.
Mr. Batman was a lifetime Great Bend resident who was owner and operator of R & L Pump & Swivel.
He was a United States Navy veteran. He was a member of Heritage Baptist Church who loved to hunt and fish and enjoyed listening to his brother’s music.
Survivors include two brothers, Charles L. Batman and his wife Martha, Otis; Elmo E. Batman, Kansas City, Kan.; nine grandchildren, Jill Zecha, Shane Alexander, Jodi Hembree, Heather Fuentes, Troy Alexander, Stacee Alexander, Michelle Alexander, Kimberly Alexander, and Janae Ginardi; 18 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and six nieces and nephews,  Danny Orr, Patrick Orr, Brian Batman, Shelly Nelson, Angela Lauber, and Lonnie Phillips.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Frieda Ilene Orr and LaWanda Mae Farrell.
A Memorial Service is scheduled at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bryant Funeral Home with Pastor Ken Gray Officiant. Inurnment will be at Great Bend Cemetery, with military rites by United States Navy Honor Guard. No visitation is scheduled as cremation has taken place.
