Randy Slack, 69, died Nov. 13, 2017, at his home in Great Bend. He was born Feb. 26, 1948, the son of Ethmer Slack and Marge Pitcher. On June 21, 1990, he married Andrea Yacks.


Randy is survived by his wife, Andrea Slack of the home; his children, Kerry (Denise) Partridge, Michelle (Darin) Bernauer, Chandra Slack and Shane (Melissa) Slack; six grandchildren, Zach Partridge, Ashley (Derrick) Partridge, Kerry Joe Partridge, Tyler Martin, Jillian Martin and Kaylee Rhode; and two great-grandchildren, Treyton Barnes and Braxton Martin. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Jenny Sparkman, Joan (David) Pettway, Cheri (Ed) Lynch, Bobby (Lois) Podgorski, Danny (Lori) Slack, John (Michelle) Podgorski, David Podgorski and Keith Maxim.


Randy loved to hunt, fish and tell stories and was an avid animal lover. He was known for his infectious laugh and ability to throw a party.
Randy and his wife Andrea opened Slacks Bar & Grill in 1985. The business was open for 21 years. He was always known as an “Independent Rider.” He was past State President of ABATE, Past President of District-6 ABATE and founder of BOCK (Bikers of Central Kansas). Randy also started the American Legion Riders in Great Bend.
There wasn’t a rig move too tough, a semi he couldn’t drive or a bike he couldn’t ride. To know him was to love him, he will be missed by all.


Memorial services will be Saturday, Nov. 18, at 5 p.m. at First Assembly of God Church, 601 S. Patton Road, Great Bend, with Pastor Dwight Dozier officiating. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. If you would like to make an expression of sympathy, the family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial donations for expenses be sent to: Slack Family, P.O. Box 273, Great Bend, KS 67530.
A celebration of life dinner/party will take place at the Elks Lodge, 1120 Kansas Ave, Great Bend.
