Raylene Dee Kolas    1946 - 2012

GALATIA — Raylene Dee Kolas, 66, died Oct. 4 at Wheatland Nursing Center in Russell. Born July 18, 1946 in Hawthorne, Calif. she was the daughter of Hersel and Josephine (Long) Grindstaff. On March 23, 1963 she married Benjamin A. Kolas Jr., in Inglewood, Calif. A resident of Galatia for 19 years, coming from Hoisington, she was a seamstress.
Mrs. Kolas loved spending time with family, grandchildren and great-granddaughters.
Survivors include her husband, Ben Kolas, of the home; two daughters, Raylene Guertin and husband Michael of Galatia and Toni Jo Scott and husband Daniel of Otis; one brother, Ted Grindstaff of Galatia; four grandchildren, Benji Kolas, Robert Kolas, Justin Scott, and Daniel Scott; and two great-granddaughters, Maddie Kolas and Jaylin Kolas. She was preceded in death by, her parents; two brothers, Gerald Grindstaff and Robert Thomas Grindstaff; and one sister, Bonnie Jo Sellers.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Pfortmiller officiating. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.nicholsonrickefh.net.
