Raymond Kent Frick

LARNED — Raymond Kent Frick, 69, passed away April 10, 2023 in Topeka, Kan.

He was born July 30, 1953 in Larned, the son of Raymond George and Alma Mae Debes Frick. 

A lifetime area resident he was a farmer-rancher and a member of Larned United Methodist Church. He attended Zook Consolidated School until the 6th grade and graduated from Larned High School in 1971. He was a member of Garfield Lions Club and Garfield COOP Board. He was one of the first members of the Pawnee County Fair Board and was instrumental in the construction of the fair buildings. Kent was a 4-H supporter, member and project leader of the Zook Zippers 4-H club. He enjoyed helping with livestock sales, shooting sports and the bucket calf project. He was a Pheasants Forever committee member and instructed hunter’s safety courses. Kent was a lifetime hunter and traveled to various states to hunt deer, elk, antelope, and bear. He had a passion for the land and farming which he shared with his children and grandchildren. Kent loved attending his kid’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and livestock shows.

On May 11, 1974 he married Karen Kay Fyler at Larned; she survives.

Other survivors include four children, Dr. Christina Frick (Brent Maxwell), their children, Grayson, Kole and Addison Maxwell, Larned, Melissa (Matt) Brossard, their children, Harley and Carter Brossard, Topeka, Kurtis (Holly) Frick, their children, Chayse, Kaden and Paisley Frick, Larned, and Audra (Dustin) Geiger, their children, Natalie and Mason Geiger, Topeka; sister, Kim (Terry) Fairchild, Overland Park. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at Larned United Methodist Church with Pastor Tricia North presiding. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned, with family present from 6-8 p.m. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery.
