ELLINWOOD — Raymond Petz, 82, died Oct. 5 at Promise Regional Medical Center in Hutchinson. He was born Oct. 5, 1928, at Ellinwood, the son of Edwin A. and Margaret Klepper Petz. He married Bernice Moos on Dec. 30, 1947, at Ellinwood. A lifetime Ellinwood resident, he was owner of Ray Petz Interior/Exterior Decorating in Ellinwood.
Mr. Petz was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Ellinwood.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; four sons, Kenneth (Jean Ann) Petz, El Dorado, Tom (Susan) Petz, Lawrence, and Merle (Sarah) Petz, and Carl (Melinda) Petz, all of Olathe; three daughters, Kay (Larry) Thompson, Garden City, Carmen (Francis) Flax, Salina, and Melba (Dan) Detmer, Raleigh, N.C.; a brother, Robert (Wilma) Petz, Ardmore, Okla.; a sister, Lorraine Petz, Ellinwood; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by brothers, Elmer (Bud), Edward and Frank, and a sister, LaVerna Herdt.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Ellinwood, with Father Charles Mazouch officiating. Altar Society rosary will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Kimple Funeral Home in Ellinwood, followed by a vigil service at 7:30 p.m. at the church. Burial will be at Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery in Ellinwood. Calling time will be 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
