HOISINGTON —  Rebecca J. “Becky” Maier, 70, died Sept. 19, 2015, at Woodhaven Care Center, Ellinwood.  Born June 6, 1945 at Great Bend, she was the daughter of H. Ray and Lenora (Ochs) Humphrey
Rebecca married Harlan Maier June 4, 1975 at Hoisington. Working in production at Fuller Brush Industries, Mrs. Maier was a lifetime Hoisington resident, living a short while in San Diego, Calif. Becky was a member of First United Methodist Church, Hoisington, and E.H.U.  She was also a volunteer for the American Cancer Society and a Girl Scout leader.  Her many joys in life included crafts, baking, and caring for her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Harlan Maier, of the home; two daughters: Shelley Riedel and husband Richard of Hoisington, and Tracey Patch and husband Alex of Lenexa; one brother, Kenneth Humphrey and wife Janene of Longview, Texas; one sister, Carol Clarke of Hoisington; a step son, Mark Maier of Garden City; three grandchildren: Kera, Tari, and Logan Riedel; three great-grandchildren: Jed Zeller, Kiptyn Zeller, and Bentlee Riedel; two step grandchildren, Austin and Drake Maier; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert L. Humphrey.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home.  The officiant will be Rev. Dr. Reuben Lang’at. Interment will be at Hoisington Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015, with the family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, 415 N. Main, Hoisington.  Memorials are suggested to American Diabetes Association, in care of Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.nicholsonrickefh.net
