Richard E. Roesler 1934-2013

BUSHTON — Richard E. Roesler, 78, died Feb. 5, 2013 at Prairie Sunset Home in Pretty Prairie. Born Oct. 27, 1934 in Oklahoma, he was the son of Joseph and Pauline Schoenecke Roesler. He graduated from Claflin High School, attended the University of Kansas and received a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Economic from Kansas State University. A long time resident of Bushton and Claflin, he was a farmer/rancher. He was married to Roberta J. Roesler.
Mr. Roesler served in the Air National Guard for 8 years. He was a member of the United Methodist church and the Masonic Lodge, both of Claflin.
Survivors include a daughter, Machalle Willems; and a brother, Joe Roesler of Larned. He was preceded in death by a brother, Marion Roesler; and two sisters, Karen Roesler and Virginia Casteen.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Birzer Funeral Home in Lyons with the Rev. Gene Langhofer officiating. Burial will be at the Claflin Cemetery. Friends may visit from 2 to 5 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to The Center in Great Bend in care of the funeral home.
