Richard “Ed” Ludes, 81, passed away July 9, 2016, at Great Bend Regional Hospital, Great Bend. He was born Aug. 5, 1934, the son of Bernard Edward and Genevieve (McMullen) Ludes.
He married Patricia Rogg, June 6, 1959 at Russell, he worked for Mutual of Omaha as a Salesman for fifty years.
Since 1961 Ed has been a Great Bend resident. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, Life Underwriters and a member of St Patrick’s Catholic Church. Ed was an avid swimmer, being a charter member of Town and Country Racquet Club, presently known as Club 1 Fitness, Great Bend.
Survivors include: His wife Patricia Ludes, of the home, two daughters, Aimee Jostrand of Lucas, TX, Jennifer and wife LeAnne Ludes of Omaha, NE; two sisters, Joan Machin and husband Tom of Escondido, CA, Regina Hogan of Placerville, CA; and five grandchildren: Jaden Jostrand, Max Jostrand, Piper Jostrand, Amanda Ludes, and Evan Ludes.
A Funeral Mass will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5, 2016, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Great Bend, with Father Don Bedore. There will be no visitation, as cremation has taken place. A private family inurnment will be taking place at Great Bend Cemetery. Memorial Fund: Knights of Columbus or Holy Family School, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
