Richard Leo Eaton  1968 - 2020

GREAT BEND – Richard Leo Eaton, 51, passed away February 13, 2020 at University of Kansas Health Systems Hays Campus, Hays.

He was born November 1, 1968 in Needles, California, the son of Dale Gordon and Janice L. Phye Eaton.

Moving from Barstow, California in 2001, he was a longtime area resident and was employed at various jobs with Rosewood Services, Great Bend. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Larned. He enjoyed riding horses, bowling, and loved attending Rosewood Dances.

Survivors include: two sisters, Katherine M. Eaton, Texas, Allison R. Sanchez, Barstow, California; three step sisters, Karla Bartz, Theresa Medina, both of Salina, Angela Lyon, Manhattan; four step brothers, Rodney Bartz, Wichita, Randy Bartz, Great Bend, Arlan Bartz, Vero Beach, Florida, Jeffrey Bartz, Olathe; a step sister-in-law, Sandi Bartz, Larned; several nieces and nephews, and his Rosewood Family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dale Eaton, Janice Eaton; step mother, Carol Bartz Eaton; and a step brother, Michael Bartz.

Graveside service 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 17, 2020 at Highland Cemetery, Medicine Lodge, with Father Mark Brantley presiding. Visitation 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, February 16, 2020 at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned.
