ELLINWOOD — Rick Wells, 45, died Feb. 4 at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita. Born Sept. 18, 1967 in Denver, Colo., he was the son of Jackie Wayne and Debby Anne (Brewer) Wells. A resident of Ellinwood for seven years, coming from Denver, Colo., he was formerly a cook for Jim’s Cafe and Dee Dee’s Pizza.
Mr. Wells was a member of Amazing Grace Church in Denver, Colo.
Survivors include his mother, Debby Sheldon and her husband Larry, of Ellinwood; two sisters, Terri Rhyne of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Valentine Shiverdeck of Lebanon, Mo.; three brothers, David Wells of Ellinwood, Orlie Hoover of Amarillo, Texas, and Jackie Wells of Lebanon, Mo.; maternal grandfather, Edwin Stoppel of Ellinwood; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by maternal grandmother, Elva Stoppel.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday at Bryant Funeral Home with Pastor Curtis Reinhardt officiating. Burial will be at the Lakin-Comanche Cemetery in Ellinwood. Memorials are suggested to the Rick Wells Funeral Expense Fund in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net.
