QUINTER — Rita Houdeshell, 72, of Quinter, died on Nov. 23, 2013 at Hays Medical Center. Born June 7, 1941, in Great Bend, she was the daughter of Harley J. and Helen (Strobel) Everett. She was a graduate of Radium High School. On March 4, 1963, Rita was united in marriage to Larry W. Houdeshell in Dodge City. She worked for many years and retired as a certified nurse’s assistant at Gove County Hospital in Quinter.
Survivors include her husband of the home; a son Aaron J., Colorado Springs, Colo.; a daughter Helen “Rene,” Phillipsburg; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.  She was preceded in death by her parents; and a niece Debra Bird.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Park. Burial will take place at 4:30 p.m. at the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Seward. Visitation and viewing will be from 9 a.m. to service time Friday, at the church. Memorial are suggested to the Gove County Medical Center, in care of the funeral home.
