ELLINWOOD — Rob Zimmerman, 54, died Feb. 13, 2012 at his home in Ellinwood. Born July 17, 1957 in Ellinwood, he was the son of Robert M. Zimmerman and Beverly A. Blehm Zimmerman. He graduated from Ellinwood High School in 1975 and attended Salina Vo-Tech. On Feb. 17, 1995 he married Tammy Bownes in Las Vegas, Nev. A long-time resident of Ellinwood, he was an oilfield truck for Duke Drilling, hay hauler for Mike Ringwald, and employed by Fastrack Trucking in Raymond.
Mr. Zimmerman was a member of the Immanuel United Church of Christ and Sons of American Legion, both in Ellinwood.
Survivors include his wife, Tammy Zimmerman, of the home; his parents, Robert and Bev Zimmerman of Ellinwood; two brothers, Scott Zimmerman, Ellinwood; and Kevin Zimmerman, Des Moines, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are scheduled at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Ellinwood with the Rev. Katrina Palan officiating. Burial will be at the Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery in Ellinwood. Friends may visit from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to medical expenses or to Heartland Cancer Center.
