Robert Frank James 1931-2015

HOISINGTON — Robert Frank James, 83, died Jan. 15, 2015 at Cherry Village Nursing Home, Great Bend.
He was born Sept. 4, 1931 at Syracuse, the son of Albert M. and Rowena P. (Lockridge) James.
Robert married Wanda J. Strimple June 27, 1953 at Wichita. She died March 10, 2007. He was a 1953 graduate of Southwestern College, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. A longtime employee at Fuller Brush Industries, Mr. James was a Hoisington resident since 1981 coming from Great Bend. Previously, he was employed as a linotypist for the Syracuse Journal and Great Bend Tribune. Robert was a member of the Hoisington First United Methodist Church and enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include four sons, David Keith James and wife Anita, Farmers Branch, Texas; Kenneth Allen James, Mobile, Ala.; Robert Eugene James and wife Marilyn, Bell Buckle, Tenn.; Stephen Douglas James and wife Lisa, Great Bend; a daughter, Katherine Ann James, Springfield, Ill.; a brother, Richard L. James, Greeley, Colo.; a sister, Cynthia A. Long, Williamsburg, Va.; five grandchildren, Brian James, Xavier Pineda, David James, Alexander Pineda, Sydney James and a step- grandchild.
Funeral Service is scheduled at 11 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church in Hoisington with Rev. Kris Brinley officiating. Interment will be at the Garfield Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Visitation is scheduled from 1-8 p.m. Sunday with the family receiving friends from 6-7 p.m. at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home.
