SALINA — Robert Fredrick Ahlvers, 69, of Salina, died Aug. 21. Robert was born July 22, 1941, in Beloit, the second son of Leo and Eunice (Smith) Ahlvers. He grew up on the family farm near Glen Elder and graduated from Glen Elder High School. He attended Fort Hays State University. Robert (Bob) worked for Tractor Supply Company for more than 30 years in its different stores at Salina and St. Joseph, Mo. His specialty was customer service and knowledge of the products his customers needed. From time to time, he farmed with his family south of Glen Elder. He loved KSU sports, college football, farming and working with his friends at Tractor Supply Company.

Survivors include a sister, Patricia and Jim Boyd of Beloit; and three brothers, Richard and Kathy Ahlvers of Great Bend, Rodney and Norma Ahlvers of Glen Elder and David and Carol Ahlvers of Salina.

Ryan Mortuary is handling the final arrangements. Cremation has taken place and no memorial ceremony has been planned. Condolences may be sent in care of Ryan Mortuary. Memorials may be sent to the Kansas State University Athletics Fund in care of Ryan Mortuary.
