HOISINGTON — Robert "Bob" K. Littrell, 83, died May 22 at Clara Barton Hospital in Hoisington. Born April 7, 1928, at Hoisington, he was the son of George D. and Gladys M. (Vandenberg) Littrell. He married Betty Arlene Durand on June 20, 1950, at Hoisington. She died May 22, 2001. A lifetime resident of the Hoisington area, he worked for Terra Resources as a production superintendent, retiring in 1982.
Mr. Littrell was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council No. 1521 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7428. He was also a member of Lake Barton Golf Course and managed the pro shop, and was a bus driver for Great Bend Unified School District 428.
Survivors include one son, Mike Littrell and wife Jozet of Hoisington; four daughters, Christa Beck and husband Jerry of Claflin, and Debbie Davis and husband Mike, Sandy Ray and husband Jim, and Marte Littrell, all of Hoisington; 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, George Littrell Jr.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Hoisington, with celebrants Father Dwight Birket and Father Ultan Murphy.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with Knights of Columbus rosary at 7 p.m., at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home in Hoisington. Interment will be at St. John Church Cemetery, Hoisington, with military graveside rites by Hoisington VFW No. 7428 and American Legion No. 286. Donations to a memorial funds for Kans for Kids, Clara Barton Hospital, and the Hoisington Park and Tree Department may be made in care of the funeral home.
