HENNESSEY, Okla. — Ron Cornett, 75, died Dec. 27, 2016, at St. Mary’s Regional Hospital in Enid, Okla. Born Feb. 6, 1941 in Corpus Christi, Texas, he was the son of C.F. and Maxine Polk Cornett. He attended Prairie Center School in rural Hoisington and Claflin and Winfield public schools. In 1959, he graduated from Claflin High School. He attended Southwestern College in Winfield. On Aug. 7, 1971, he married Mary Beth Kilgariff in Enid, Okla. He worked for various oil related companies in Winfield and Hennessey Okla. and was an over the road truck driver for 10 years.
Mr. Cornett served in the United States Army in Viet Nam.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Beth, of the home; one son, John Christopher Cornett and wife Michelle of Pryor, Okla.; one daughter, Kimbra Shriver of Cushing, Okla.; three grandchildren, Grace and Audrey Cornett, and London Shriver; one brother, Mark Cornett and wife Judy of Kingwood, Texas; one sister, Carol Cornett of Riverside, Mo.; one niece, Amy Carlson Long and one nephew, Matt Carlson. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Marilyn Carlson.
Family graveside services will be held at a later date.
