CHESTER, Ill. — Rosie Marie Usher, 95, passed away on March 10, 2016, at Memorial Hospital in Chester, Ill. Born Feb. 24, 1921, in Alexander, she was the daughter of William and Anna (Wegele) Baus. She was raised on a Kansas farm but moved to Chester, Ill., after she was married. On July 21, 1944, she married Leo J. Usher. He preceded her in death on Dec. 25, 2009. She worked as a nurse for over 40 years.
Mrs. Usher was a Jehovah’s Witness.
Survivors include, a daughter, Gay Lynn (Joe) Schoenberger of St. Louis, Mo.; two sons, Gary Usher of Chester, Ill., and Michael (Joanne) Usher of Albuquerque, N.M.; seven grandchildren, Tia (Brad) Reid, Bryant (Michelle) Birchler, Cory (Erin) Usher, Chase (Cody) Usher, Joshua (Tara) Usher, Dustin (Sarah) Usher and Katye (Brian) Minge; nine great-grandchildren, Emily, Tyler, Marcus, Alexis, Clayton, Austin, Connor, Anton and Ayden; three siblings, Paul A. Baus, William (Barbara) Baus, and Wilma (Diz) Washaliski; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by, her parents; husband, Leo J. Usher; and two brothers, Elmer Baus and Raymond Baus.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 15, at Paradise Cemetery in Steeleville, Ill., with Elder Paul Horn officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
