Rosetta Barbara Bremenkamp 1924-2017

COLBY — Rosetta Barbara (Laverenz) Bremenkamp, 93, of Colby, went to be with her heavenly Father, Monday, June 5, 2017, at Citizens Medical Center, in Colby.
She was born Feb. 4, 1924, the daughter of John and Anna (Delzeit) Laverenz, in Purcell. She graduated from Highland High School in 1942, and moved to western Kansas with her parents after graduation. She married Raymond Bremenkamp Nov. 29, 1944. The couple had six children. They lived on the farm southeast of Colby, until the fall of 1981, when they moved to Cumberland. They celebrated their 40th anniversary in November of 1984 and Raymond passed away in April of 1985. In January of 2006, Rosetta moved back to Colby.
Rosetta was a farm wife and mother. Rosetta participated in several state and national bowling tournaments. She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish, the Daughters of Isabella and Handmaids Prayer Group.
Survivors include her son, Mike (Elaine) Bremenkamp, Colby; daughters, Shirley Bremenkamp, Colby; Rosella Bremenkamp, Salina; and Patricia (Rick) Breit, Great Bend; seven grandchildren, Jerry (Michelle) Bremenkamp, Liberal; Anita (Clinton) Rose, Scott City; Barb (Travis) Barrett, Hope, Steve (Michelle) Bremenkamp, Gem; Michelle (John) Bargo, Colby; Mat Breit, Great Bend and Marc Bremenkamp, Colby; five great-grandchildren, Chelsie Rose, Cody Bremenkamp, Alyssa and Kyle Bremenkamp and Easton Bargo, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Rosetta was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond: an infant daughter, Edith Ann; a son, Raymond Jr.; a great-granddaughter, Emily Bremenkamp; sisters, Ruthanna Falk and Loretta Mazanec and a brother, John Laverenz.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, June 7 at Baalmann Mortuary, Colby, with a Vigil at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 9 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Colby, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
