Ross Behrens, 56, died Dec. 11 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. Born March 18, 1955, in Great Bend, he was the son of Fred and Dorothy (Ratliff) Behrens Jr. On Jan. 31, 1975, he married Karen Nagel in Great Bend. A lifetime resident of Great Bend, he was a truck driver and a machinist for Aaron’s Repair.
Mr. Behrens was a member of the First Christian Church. He was an Eagle Scout. He loved hunting, fishing, motorcycles, Nascar, cooking and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; his parents, of Great Bend; two sons, Michael Behrens of Hoisington and Brian Behrens, of Wichita; a daughter, Melissa Serrien and husband Greg, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a brother, Robert Behrens, of Great Bend; two grandchildren, Zachary Serrien and Sophie Serrien.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Bryant Funeral Home in Great Bend with the Rev. William F. Johnson officiating. There will be no visitation as his body has been donated to the KU Willed Body Program for medical research. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association in care of the funeral home.
