Rossie Mae Lauber, 71, died Oct. 1 at her home in Great Bend. Born May 23, 1942 in Great Bend, she was the daughter of Eugene Debbs and Okla Marie (Dixon) Addington. In 1961, she married Lawrence Fredrick Rowe in Miami, Okla. They later divorced. She then married Virgil Lewis in 1971 in Great Bend. They later divorced. She then married Wilfred Patrick Lauber Sr. on Aug. 24, 1979 in Great Bend. He died on March 11, 2005. A lifetime resident of Great Bend, she was a homecare worker for the State of Kansas.
Mrs. Lauber was a member of the First Bible Baptist Church, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 646 Auxiliary and an ASPC contributor.
Survivors include three sons, Kenneth Eugene Rowe, Charles Joseph Rowe and William Earl Rowe, all of Great Bend; one brother, James E. Addington of Ellinwood; two sisters, Marie Drewel of Ellinwood and Mary Rose Lauber of Great Bend; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and step-children, Wilfred P. Lauber, Jr., Larry G. Lauber, Angela McAtee, Sharon (Lewis), Karen (Lewis), Marvin Lewis, Kenny Lewis, Grace (Lewis), Carol (Lewis), Delbert Lewis, Kathy (Lewis), and Chuckie Lisenbee. She was preceded in death by one brother, Robert E. Addington.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday at Bryant Funeral Home with the Rev. Dick Ogle officiating. Burial will be at the Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may visit from 9 to 11 a.m. today at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to Kans for Kids to benefit Camp Hope, in care of the funeral home.
