Ruth Ann Watts, 88, passed away peacefully Sept. 3 2022, at Medicalodges Great Bend Kansas. Born in Hamilton Kansas to Vincent and Rachael Schwintz, she attended Hamilton school where  she loved playing basketball. She married Junior Watts on Aug. 10, 1950 and moved to El Dorado, Kansas.

They had two children, Sue and Ron. They adopted their granddaughter Christina Lane in 1970.

She lived on a farm most of her life, growing up feeding cows and hauling hay.

They then moved to Great Bend, Kansas. Jr worked in the oilfield and Ruth was a homemaker and stay at home mom. She loved gardening and canning and cooking and baking. They raised everything from chickens, cows, pigs, horses, etc. She loved listening to country and gospel music, reading and watching old westerns. After retirement they moved to Eureka, Kansas until Jr passed away on Aug. 13, 2012. Her health declined after his passing. She moved back to Great Bend, Kansas, to be near her family.

She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandkids. She was known for her beautiful smile and saying what was on her mind with no filter.

She was survived by her children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her husband, parents and sister Lois Lyons of Eureka, Kansas.

There will be no service as cremation has taken place and private burial will be at a later date. Cards may be sent to Koup Funeral Home, 121 N Oak St., Eureka, KS 67045.
