Ruth W. Wynn 1925 - 2012

SOUTH HUTCHINSON — Ruth W. Wynn, 87, died Dec. 15 at Mennonite Friendship Manor in South Hutchison. Born May 31, 1925 in Chase, she was the daughter of Fred Leslie and Sara Maude Elliot Willard. In 1943 she graduated from Labette County Community High School in Altamont. On Dec. 18, 1977 she married Phillip G. Wynn Hr., in Sterling. He died on Oct. 28, 2012. Formerly of Great Bend and Ellinwood, with winters spent in McAllen, Texas, she was a receptionist at Sterling Drilling Company for 14 years.
Mrs. Wynn was of the Protestant faith, She enjoyed playing piano, organ, cribbage and was an avid painter.
Survivors include a son, Roger Malone of Montrose, Colo.; a daughter, Vicki Crowe of Hutchinson; two step-daughters, Susan Rabern of Fairfield, Va. and Saundra Reitmayer of Liberty, Texas; two grandchildren, Heidi Linden of Sterling and Bryre Malone of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two great-grandchildren, Makenna and Avery Linden; five step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Fred Willard; three sisters, Margaret Miller, Mary Reeves and Grace Gant.
Memorials services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Lyons Municipal Cemetery with Pastor Joe Stover officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
