Shirley Pundsack, 79, passed away June 2, 2024, at her home in Great Bend, Kan. Shirley was born June 9, 1944, in Quinter, Kan., to Titus and Matilda (Herzog) Kuntz. After high school in 1962, Shirley moved to Great Bend and married her husband Don Pundsack on April 19, 1969.
Shirley worked for dentist Dr. Reinhardt after moving to Great Bend. She then went to beauty school and had her own beauty shop, Hair Fashions, for 15 years. Shirley was co-owner of Moeder Oil and the office manager from 1980 to 2000 when she retired. Shirley enjoyed going to concerts like Neil Diamond and Jimmy Buffet, and enjoyed traveling. She was very giving and enjoyed helping others, whether it be providing a meal for a group or donating money.
Shirley is survived by her husband Don of Great Bend; three sisters, Caroline Vonfeldt, Nancy Jane Kuntz O.P., and Roma Lea and husband George Michel; brothers-in-law, Larry Boor and Don Sherman; and many nieces and nephews. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Doreen Boor and Maxine Sherman; and nephew, Andrew Sherman.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 10, 2024, at St. Rose Of Lima Catholic Church, Great Bend, with Father Aneesh Parappanattu presiding. Interment will follow at Great Bend Cemetery. Memorials have been designated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd, Great Bend, KS, 67530.
