Dominican Sister of Peace, Sister Kathleen Andrews died at Mohun Health Care Center, Columbus, Ohio on Aug. 31, 2023. She was born in 1936 in Albuquerque, N.M. and in 1955 entered the Dominican Sisters of Great Bend, Kan., now the Dominican Sisters of Peace.

Sr. Kathleen earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from St. Mary of the Plains, Dodge City, Kan., and her Master’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Colorado. She served as a nurse and Vice President of Patient Care Services at Central Kansas Medical Center, the chairperson of the Health Science Department at Barton Community College in Great Bend, and as an apartment manager for Single Parents and Senior Housing in Denver, Colo.

She was preceded in death by her parents Daniel and Julie Spolar Andrews and her sister Marilyn Adams. She is survived by her sister Dolores Bernard and her nieces.

A vigil of remembrance and wake will be held from 4:45 pm. to 7 p.m. on Sept. 11, at the Dominican Sisters of Peace Motherhouse Chapel, Columbus, Ohio. The funeral liturgy will be held at the Dominican Sisters of Peace Motherhouse Chapel at 9 a.m. on Sept. 12, followed by burial at St. Joseph Cemetery by Egan-Ryan Funeral Home.
