HOISINGTON — Sonja Dee Ritter, 49, died Nov. 21, 2013, at Clara Barton Hospital in Hoisington. She was born May 4, 1964, at Larned, the daughter of Raymond Lee and Patricia J. (Freeburg) Hanken.
Sonja graduated from Hoisington High School and attended Barton County Community College. She worked as a dental office manager for over 25 years and was also a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and enjoyed singing in the choir, watching sports, especially her daughters’, cooking, art, sewing, playing the saxophone, and floral work.
She married Steve Ritter on July 24, 1982, at Albert.
Survivors include her husband Steve, of the home; parents, Raymond Lee and Patricia J. Hanken of Holyrood; two daughters, Sarah Smith and husband Austin of Great Bend, and Shelly Ritter of Great Bend; a sister, Tonya Chadwell and husband Troy of Flower Mound, Texas; a brother, Terry Hanken and wife Jeni of McPherson; father-in-law, Keith Ritter of Hoisington; three nephews, Cole Hanken, Trey Hanken and Drew Hanken; one niece, Taye Chadwell; two aunts, Rosalia Ann Schick and Sandra Darcey, both of Great Bend, and first cousins, Jama Nicholas, Randall Schober, Rudy Schober and Ryan Schober.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents and mother-in-law, Edie Ritter.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 25, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Hoisington with Pastor Steven R. Little officiating. Burial will follow at Hoisington Cemetery. Friends may call  from 1-8 p.m. Sunday, with a prayer service beginning at 7, at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home in Hoisington. Memorials are suggested to Emmanuel Lutheran Church in care of the funeral home.
