ST. JOHN — Stephen “Steve” F. Dryden, age 69, passed away on March 3, 2021 in Wichita, Kan. He was born on Jan. 6, 1952 at Hays, Kan., the son of James B. and Adele (Conyac) Dryden. A resident of St. John since 1981, he was a School Psychologist for the Stafford County Schools. He received his Associate Degree at Barton County JUCO and his Master’s Degree in School Psychology at Fort Hays State University.
Steve served his Country in the U.S. Army and was a member of the First Baptist Church, St. John.
He married Marsha A. (Massey) on Sept. 29, 1973 at St. John, she survives of the home. Other survivors include two daughters, Jaime (Rob) Meitner, Hutchinson, Kan., Lindsey (Davie) Davis, Garfield, Kan.; two brothers, Jim (Darlene) Dryden, Plainville, Kan., Jerry Dryden, Kalamazoo, Mich.; two sisters, Julie (Gene) Bittel, Tulsa, Okla., Francita Dryden, San Diego, Calif., Dawn (Ron) Thyfault, Plainville, Kan.; four grandchildren, Jacob Meitner, Mason Miller, Landon Davis and Lynkon Davis. He was preceded in death by a brother, David Dryden and a sister Anna Dryden.
Visitation will be on Sunday, March 7, 2021 from 1-7 p.m. at Minnis Chapel in St. John. Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Monday, March 8, 2021 at the First Baptist Church, St. John, with Pastor Roland Broeder presiding. Military graveside rites will follow in the Fairview Park Cemetery, St. John, Kan. Memorials may be given to First Baptist Church, USD-350 Education Foundation, Sandyland Shepherds Center, in care of Minnis Chapel, P.O. Box 34, St. John, KS 67576.
