Stephen Thomas Flakus 1951-2015

ELLINWOOD — Stephen Thomas Flakus, 64, passed away in Ellinwood, on June 4, 2015. Born in Great Bend on Jan. 14, 1951, he was the son of Joseph A. and Rosemary (Hines) Flakus.
Stephen was a 1969 Ellinwood High School graduate that later went on to receive his Masters degree from Kansas University. A resident of Ellinwood since 1994 he was the owner and operator of a computer web business called “Postrock”. He previously worked at the Great Bend Tribune as well as newspapers in Dallas and Houston.
He is survived by sisters Virginia Shults, Webster, New York, Mary Ann Spangler, Scott City, two nieces and three nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service is planned for 10:30 am on Thursday, June 18, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Ellinwood with Fr. John Forkuoh presiding. Burial will follow at Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery in Ellinwood. The Altar Society will pray Rosary at 7 pm on Wenesday, June 17, at Minnis Chapel in Ellinwood. Memorials are suggested to Mass Offerings in care of Minnis Chapel,  Po Box 246, Ellinwood, KS 67526.
