Steve 'Zig' Sigler 1955-2012

GREAT BEND — Steve “Zig” Sigler, 56, died May 15, 2012 at Clara Barton Hospital, Hoisington.
He was born July 8, 1955 at Los Angeles, Calif., the son of Bert and Glenna (Brooks) Sigler.
He married Becky Brown August 4, 1990 at Great Bend.  
He was a driller and roughneck for Duke Drilling and Pickrell Drilling. He was a United States Army veteran. Mr. Sigler was a Great Bend resident most of his life. He enjoyed playing softball, NASCAR, drag racing, helping people and spending time with his family and friends. Most of all, he loved working in the oilfield.
Survivors include his wife, Becky Sigler, of the home; two sons, Josh Sigler, Manhattan; and Jeremy Sigler, of the home; two daughters, Ashley Ellis and her husband Tony, Brentwood, Tenn.; Kristina Benner, McComb, Miss.; a sister, Linda Hippler, Azusa, Calif.; three brothers, Eddie Sigler, Loma Linda, Calif.; Bert Sigler, Hutchinson; Robert Sigler, Hutchinson; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Morrison.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday, May 19 at Bryant Funeral Home with The Reverend Dick Ogle officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Fort Riley Honor Guard. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.
Memorials are suggested to the Children’s Education Fund, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
