Sue Ellen Lindsay 1954 - 2018

PAOLA – Sue Ellen Lindsay, 64, passed away at her home in Paola. She was born on April 2, 1954 in Hoisington. Sue was lucky to have two loving parents, Lester L. and Dolores (Brewer) Lindsay.
Sue was baptised a Christian and was active in the church as she grew up. She was a member of the pep club, Girl Scouts, 4-H, and held many other club memberships. She graduated from Hoisington High School and later received her LPN (nursing) degree. She worked most of her life as a caregiver. Later in life, she went back to school and received her social work degree at Fort Hays State University. She worked with the mental health field until she retired. Sue loved children, and kids in general, having special relationships with all her family members. She loved to spend time with her nieces and nephews, but especially loved spending time with her grandsons and hearing them call her Nana.
Survivors include, one daughter, Amy Schmidt and husband Patrick of Basehor; two sisters, Pam and husband Kenny Bonham of Larned and Debbie Lindsay of Mesquite, Texas and a sister-in-law, Lisa Crist of Olmitz; two grandsons, Collin and Liam Schmidt; nieces, Andrea Amador, Hailee and Gracie Bonham and Shauna (Bonham) Karpe and nephews, Tyler Bonham and Dominic and Austin Manley. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester L. and Dolores (Brewer) Lindsay, and a brother, Lester A. Lindsay.
Friends may call at the Funeral Home 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, July 2, 2018, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. to receive friends. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home with Shelly Klingensmith officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Hoisington Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Sue Lindsay Funeral Expense Fund, in care of Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.nicholsonrickefh.net
