LARNED — Terry Lee Perez, 64, passed away June 22, 2019 in Larned, Kan. He was born Jan. 10, 1955, in Kinsley, the son of Clemente Rincon and Lucia M. Mariche Perez. A lifetime area resident, he was a certified welder for Doonan Trailer in Great Bend, Kan. He graduated from Kinsley High School in 1972. He lived in Pratt from 1986 to 1999 where he ran Pratt County Achievement place for 13 years.
He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Larned. He was an avid Chiefs fan, softball player and loved playing all sports. He loved spending time with family, his children and grandchildren and was a devoted and loving foster parent for 40 plus years.
On Nov. 30, 1974, he married Marilyn Sue Reed in Larned. She survives.
Other survivors include four sons, T.J. (Ally) Perez, Hutchinson, Charlie (Tamara) Perez, Larned, Brandon Perez (Emily Herrman), Pittsburg, Treg (Vanessa) Fletcher, Wichita; four daughters, Crystal Naugle, April Perez and Miesha Perez, Sydnie Morrow (Josh Bernal), all of Larned; four brothers, Felix Perez, Hutchinson, Raymond (Cindy) Perez, Anthony (Darla) Perez, both of Larned, Manuel (Marilyn) Perez, Salina; two sisters, Eleanor (Leon) Sanders, Larned, Linda (Frank) Garcia, Wichita; nine grandchildren, Elijah Perez, Aiden, Alissa and Adam O’Crotty, Nevaeh Perez, Bentley and Rowan Bernal, Hanna and Maddox Fletcher. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Guadalupe, Pete, Francisco and John Perez and two sisters, Trinadad Ruiz and Jane Bronson.
Rosary and vigil will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Larned, with Father Bernard Felix presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary. Cremation will take place following the service and no burial at this time.
