Theresa C. Clark

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Theresa C. Clark, 95, died on Thursday Aug. 1, 2024 at St. Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City, Mo. Theresa was born Jan. 15, 1929, in Kansas City, Kan. to Frank G. and Anna H. (Bosiljevac) Kratofil. She was raised on Strawberry Hill with her two brothers, Frank Jr. and Lawrence, and four sisters, Agnes Doolittle, Bernice, Anna Mae Perry and Katherine Novak. Her parents and siblings all preceded her in death.

In 1947 her friend Katie took her home and introduced her to her brother, Bill (Harold). Bill and Theresa were married on April 24, 1948, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Strawberry Hill. They had three children, 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. They were married 62 years before his death in 2010.

Theresa was an avid volunteer at her home parish, Christ the King Catholic Church in Kansas City, Kan. She served on the Altar Society, Bereavement Committee, Nocturnal Adoration Society and the school library. She was also a long-time volunteer with Cancer Action crocheting hundreds of stoma covers for them over the years. She attended daily mass whenever she could, attending virtually when she could no longer get to the church. In later years she spent hours each morning praying for each person on her prayer list. Anytime someone mentioned a person in need of prayers, she would add them to her list and kept praying for them.

Theresa retired from Sealright in 1992. She and Bill enjoyed traveling the country with their RV making friends and crocheting booties along the way. She had a big smile and welcoming heart for everyone. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and her many nieces and nephews.

Theresa is survived by her three children, Theresa Melvin, Bill Jr. (Kristen) and Paul (Pamela); 12 grandchildren Jim Melvin Jr., Janet Morales, Julie Duryee, Joanna Tabtab, Rebecca Miller, Veronica Clark, Stephen Clark, Matthew Clark, Andrew Clark, Juniper James, Kollin Clark and David Clark; and her 10 great grandchildren.
