Thomas Patrick Murphy, 69, passed away on Feb. 16, 2022, at home in Great Bend, Kan. He was born on July 31, 1952, to Patrick and Francis (Sooby) Murphy. He married Carol Lindholm in Great Bend, Kan. in 1984. 

Thomas was a life-time resident of Great Bend. He served in the Army as a leader of the K-9 core during the Vietnam War. The conflict ended prior to his deployment. He worked for 32 years as a critical care and ER nurse, which he loved. Thomas also was a spiritual person, being adopted into the Ioway Tribe and building Native American sweat lodges, as well as being a member of the First Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed camping and spending time with his loved ones.

Survivors include his wife of the home; a son, Josh Murphy of Manhattan, Kan.; and one sister, Margaret Dipman of Lawrence, Kan.. He is preceded in death by his parents.

There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2022. Memorials can be made to the First Presbyterian Church or Golden Belt Humane Society, in care of Bryant Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net.
