Thomas “Tom” Neil Keener, 70, passed away Jan. 16, 2022, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. He was born on Jan. 10, 1952 at Baltimore, Maryland, to Ray and Shirley Keener. He married Cheryl Gaye Keener on April 1, 1984, at Larned. She died Feb. 21, 2020.
A Great Bend resident for many years, Thomas held various jobs in Great Bend over the years. He was a roughneck in the oilfield, a meat processor at Ellinwood Packing Plant and a machinist and welder at GBI.
Survivors include, two sons, Chris Keener and wife Ecco, and Kevin Keener all of Great Bend; two grandchildren, Jonathan P. and Temperance N. Keener; and a brother, Mike Keener of Baltimore, Maryland. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Cheryl Keener; one sister and several brothers.
Per Tom’s wishes, there will be no viewing or services as cremation has taken place. Memorials have been designated to the Thomas Keener Expense Fund, in care of Bryant Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net.
