Thomas W. Fisher

MOUNT HOPE — Thomas W. Fisher, 67, passed away Feb. 9, 2022 at his home in Mount Hope, Kan.

He was born March 9, 1954 in Seneca, Kan., the son of C. Lee and Mervine L. Flynn Fisher. He was a Heating and Air Conditioning Technician. He lived in Larned for 35 years, then moved to Mount Hope in 2019.  

He was a member of Church of Christ and a volunteer firefighter, both in Larned and later became a member of the Church of Christ in Wichita. Tom and Janice were foster parents together for 20 years. He enjoyed fishing, camping and fixing things.

On April 16, 1977, he married Janice Ellen Beamer in Larned. She survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Derek Thaine Fisher, Mount Hope, Matthew Thomas (Elizabeth) Fisher, Larned; two daughters, Leigha Janell (Keith Heron) Fisher, Wichita, Tarah Mervine (Alex) Hopkins, Larned; two brothers, Robert Fisher, Bloomington, Ill., John Fisher, Aspen, Colo.; sister, Patti (Alan) Di Somma, Phoenix, Ariz.; eight grandchildren, Jenna Fisher, Sarah Fisher, Grace Fisher, Emmet Fisher, Emily Heron, Haley Heron, Laila Heron and Emma Hopkins. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022 at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel with Mr. Jimmie Keas presiding. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18, 2022 at the mortuary. Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association or Kansas Firefighters Museum and Fallen Firefighters Memorial in care of Beckwith Mortuary, P.O. Box 477 Larned, KS 67854.
