ELLINWOOD — Timothy Wayne Collier, 68, died Sept. 15, 2017, at University Of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City. Born July 28, 1949 at Great Bend, he was the son of Maryleen (Meier) Collier. A lifelong Barton County resident, Tim was a farmer, an engineer for Fuller Brush Industries, owner and operator of Chet Brown Logging Co., and an appraiser for Stafford County. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Air Force Reserves, serving in Korea during the Vietnam War. He was an avid horseman and talented artist.
Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Collier, of the home; a daughter, Whitney Collier of Atchison; his mother, Maryleen Brown, Great Bend; two sisters: Karen Morton, Great Bend, and Cheslea Hodges (Jerry), Indianapolis, Ind.; a step son, Bobby Smith, Lawrence; two step daughters: Jessica Smith, Wichita, and Adrienne Clem (Jeremy), Seattle, Wash.; three grandchildren: Tahj Helms, Taye Helms, and Saija Bailey; six step grandchildren: Madeline Mason, Alexandria Heck, Vivienne Clem, Mary Jane Clem, Rhett Ernest, and Nicolet Ernest and a brother-in-law, Joel Folds, Wichita. He was preceded in death by step father, Chester Brown, and two brothers-in-law, Jim Morton and Paul Folds.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Monday, Sept. 18, 2017, at Bryant Funeral Home, with Rev. Dick Ogle. Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m., today, Sunday, Sept. 17, 2017 at Bryant Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends from 6-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
