OTIS — Timothy William Funk, 57, died March 29 at Clara Barton Hospital, Hoisington. He was born June 2, 1955, at Hoisington, the son of Leonard and Mary Ann (Younger) Funk. He was a graduate of Hoisington High School. He worked at Galatia Coop, for LaVern Becker, American Trailers, and Essex, but his greatest love was being a farmer and cattleman his entire life.
He married Glenda S. Boxberger Aug. 26, 1978, at United Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Milberger.
A hardworking and loving husband, father and grandfather, he will be missed by his wife, Glenda S. Funk, of the home; parents, Leonard and Mary Ann Funk, Otis; one son, Jordan Funk of Salina; two daughters, Amy Kinderknecht and her husband Justin of Salina, and Jennifer Funk of Topeka; one sister, Shirley Funk of Wichita; two brothers, Dennis Funk and his wife Sue of Galatia, and David Funk and his wife Rola of Russell; one grandchild, Kyndall Kinderknecht; brothers and sisters-in-law, Judy and Ben Daubert, Bison, Dale and Julie Boxberger, Great Bend, and Gary Demel and wife Renee, Great Bend. He was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Reuben and Alice Boxberger, and one sister-in-law, Wanda Demel.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 2, at United Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Milberger. Prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home in Hoisington, with officiants Pastor Delvin Strecker and Rhonda Templing. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorial donations to Kans for Kids may be made in care of the funeral home.
