GENESEO -- Todd Merlyn Beneke, 50, died Feb. 4 at home in rural Geneseo. Born April 30, 1962, he was the son of Dale M. and Marlene E. Beneke.
A longtime rural Geneseo resident, he graduated from Quivira Heights High School in 1981, and went on to be self-employed in the salvage business. He was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church in Bushton, and served as a Boy Scout Leader.
Survivors include his parents, Dale and Marlene Beneke, Wichita; his sister, Rosie and Al Collins, Salina; two brothers, Mark and Angie Beneke, Bushton, and Lane and Pam Beneke, Louisburg, N.C., and two nieces and two nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 8 at Salem United Methodist Church in Bushton, with Rev. Ryan Lynch officiating. The casket will remain closed. Burial will be at Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Card Shack, a Community Benefit Fund in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
