Twila Maxine Bowsher

Twila Maxine Bowsher, 89, passed away Friday Sept. 25, 2020, at Brandon Woods @ Alvamar, Lawrence. She was born on March 29, 1931, at Shields, Kan. the daughter of Clifford and Edith (Thomas) Ulrich. She married to Donald Bowsher Jr., on April 5, 1953, at Quinter.

She was a long time Great Bend resident and a registered nurse working at Central Kansas Medical Center for more then 20 years. Twila was co-owner and operator of Sentry Hardware in Westgate Shopping Center, retiring in 1985. She loved gardening, bird watching, working jig saw puzzles, reading story books, playing cards/board games, and attending community concerts and traveling.

Survivors include two sons, Keith Bowsher of Lawrence and Mark Bowsher and his wife Marg of Richmond, Texas; two grandchildren Kevin Bowsher and wife Natalie of El Segundo, Calif. and Lindsey Bailey and husband Brent of Richmond, Texas; one great grandchild Elsie Mae Bowsher of El Segundo, Calif. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Donald Bowsher Jr.; and three sisters Jackie McNitt, Rosalie Bussen and Doris Fleenor.

No services will be held as cremation has taken place. Memorials are suggested to Elder Care Inc. Home Services or Great Bend Meals on Wheels, in care of Bryant Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net.
