Veda Marie Hilton, 86, died July 17, 2016, at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born July 12, 1930, in Anthony, she was the daughter of Cecil George and Lola Mable (Byers) McDaniel. On Aug. 11, 1946, she married Rodney Keith Hilton in Sharon. He died on Sept. 17, 2006. A resident of Great Bend since 1958, coming from Attica, she volunteered in the reading program at Great Bend schools.
Survivors include three sons, Douglas Hilton of Great Bend, Lyle K. Hilton of Medicine Lodge, and Rodney Steve Hilton and wife Dara of Springfield, Mo.; one daughter, Vicky Mitchell and husband Lee of Harker Heights, Texas; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by one daughter-in-law, Karen Hilton; two sisters, Vada Ball and Regina Mae Hunt; and one grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Bryant Funeral Home with the Rev. Dick Ogle officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. at the Attica District Cemetery. Visitation will be held from noon to 9 p.m., with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m., today at the funeral home.
