ELLINWOOD — Velma Ann Wornkey, 75, died April 7, 2014 at Medicine Lodge Memorial Hospital. Born Jan. 3, 1939, in Menlo, she was the daughter of Frank and Rose (Mannebaugh) Moos. On Aug. 31 1957, she married Jerry Wornkey. A lifetime resident of Kansas, she was employed in  multiple clerical jobs along with being a good and loving mother.
Survivors include her children, Michelle (Robert) Berger, Jeff Wornkey, Greg (Dawn) Wornkey, Melinda (Glenn Jr.) Schleve; sisters, Bernice Petz and Thelma Cole; and ex husband Jerry Wornkey. She was preceded in death by her parents; five siblings; and a great-grand daughter.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ellinwood with Fr. John Forkuoh presiding. Burial will follow at Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery in Ellinwood. Visitation will be from 1 to 7 p.m. today at Minnis Chapel in Ellinwood. Altar society will pray a rosary at 3 p.m. today followed by a vigil service at 7 p.m. Memorials may be given to Medicine Lodge Memorial Hospital in care of the funeral home
