STAFFORD — Velma R. Kocher died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2018, at Stafford County Hospital, Stafford. Born Jan. 23, 1945, in Butler County, Kan., she was the daughter of H.L. “Pete” and Ruth Alta DuBois Steele. On Oct. 29, 1961, she married Ulysses Alvin Kocher at Lindsborg. He died March 23, 2007.  

She is survived by sons, Duane Kocher and Thomas Kocher; daughter, Dorothy Jones; 15 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by infant son, Jeffrey LeRoy; brothers, Gordon Faust, Joe Steele and Paul Steele; sister, Pauline Harder.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018, at Minnis Chapel, Stafford. Burial will be at Stafford Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-7 p.m. Monday with the family receiving friends 5-7 p.m. at Minnis Chapel. Memorials may be sent to the Stafford County Hospital in care of the chapel.
