WICHITA — Venita E. Moore, 89, died Aug. 26 at Via Christi Hospital St. Francis in Wichita. Born Sept. 11, 1921 in Rush County, she was the daughter of E.M. and Mollie Ernst Moore. She graduated from LaCrosse High School in 1939, and attended Fort Hays Kansas State College. A resident of Wichita for 36 1/2 years, coming from Dallas, Texas, she was employed for several years by Federal Land Bank, working in their LaCrosse, Oberlin and Larned offices. She then worked for an oil company in Great Bend, transferring to their San Antonio, Texas office.

Ms. Moore attended the Methodist Church.

Survivors include a niece, Nila Elsasser of Wichita; a great-niece; and three great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Ella Diel; a nephew, Robert Diel; and a great-nephew.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Charter Funerals in Great Bend with the Rev. Diana Hill officiating. Burial will be at the Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Great Bend. Friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
