Vernon L. Williams 1934 - 2014

EL DORADO — Vernon L. Williams, 80, passed away on April 16, in Whitewater. Born on Feb. 21, 1934, in Madison, he was the son of Charles and Leta Marie (Reed) Williams. He was the owner of Fud Mud, Inc. and enjoyed fishing, wood working and his work.
Survivors include three sons, Mike (Susan) Williams of Great Bend, Donald (Stephanie) Williams of Willards, Md., and Brandon (Ceeley) Williams of Trenton, Ohio; two brothers, Steven Williams of El Dorado, and Pete (Teenie) Williams of Marion; three sisters, Dorothy Boone and Peggy (Kent) Peterson, both of El Dorado, and Carol (Larry) Faulkner of Colony; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Jerry and Robert; brothers, Virgil Duane Williams and Charles Kenneth Williams; and sisters, Norma Edwards, Shyrl Rupert and Doris Higgins.
A celebration of his life will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, at Carlson Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sunset Lawns Cemetery.  The family will receive relatives and friends Monday evening from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established with Good Shepard Hospice in care of the funeral home. Condolences for the family can be sent to www.carlsoncolonial.com.
