Vincent Lee Bruno, 68, passed away March 6, 2021, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. He was born June 2, 1952, at Ellinwood, to JB “Chief” & Mary Jane (Anthony) Bruno. He was united in marriage to Karen Herrman August 4, 1972 at Great Bend and they later divorced.

A lifetime Barton county resident, Vincent worked in the oil field for most of his life. Most recently he lived in Florida for 3 years, returning back to Great Bend 3 weeks ago. He was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council #862 and the Sac and Fox Tribe. He was a past president of the Great Bend Kids Wrestling Club. Vincent was an avid baseball card collector and especially loved watching his grandkids and nieces and nephews sporting events. 

Survivors include, his son, Johnnie Bruno and wife Joy of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; a daughter, Nikki Bruno of West Liberty, Iowa; two sisters, Terri Klein and husband Mike and Sharon Oszman and husband Steve, all of Great Bend; five grandchildren, Taylor, Kolton, Johnny, Hudson and Hadley; a great grandchild, Arrow; and numerous step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a niece, Heather Vanaman.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at Bryant Funeral Home, with Vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 11, 2021, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church with Father Don Bedore presiding. Interment will be in Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery, Ellinwood. In lieu of flowers memorials have been designated to the Vincent Bruno Funeral Expense Fund, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
