GREAT BEND — Violet Fern Seder, 92, died April 6, 2012 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Dec. 17, 1919 at Great Bend, the daughter of Fred H. and Katherine Marie (Brown) Meyer.
She married Leon Earl Seder at Great Bend. He died March 29, 1972.
Mrs. Seder was a lifetime Great Bend resident. She was the owner of Maytag Laundry, Great Bend. She was a member of Central Baptist Church, Eagles Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary. She was a former Senior Center president and a volunteer for the Barton County Historical Society. She loved and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include a son, Robert L. Seder and his wife Ann, Great Bend; a sister, Viola Befort, Oklahoma City, Okla.; three grandchildren, Sherri Diane Donovan, Hoisington; Robbie Lynn Hill, Lee’s Summit, Mo.; and Robert L. Seder II, Great Bend; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Albert Meyer, Alfred Meyer, and Russell Meyer; and a sister, Katherine Douglas.
Funeral Service is scheduled at 10 a.m. Monday at Central Baptist Church in Great Bend with The Reverend Dr. Joan Harrington and The Reverend John Grummon officiating. Interment will be at Great Bend Cemetery.
Visitation is scheduled from 2 to 9 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 6 to 7 p.m., Sunday at Bryant Funeral Home.
