Virginia K. Hogsett, 79, died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014, at her home in Great Bend. She was born May 5, 1935, at Detroit, Mich., the daughter of Elon Chester “Chief” and Mabel Edith (Wilson) Hogsett.
She was a graduate of Fort Hays State College with a master in library science. She was a librarian for Harrison and Roosevelt junior high schools in Great Bend. A Great Bend resident, she was a member of Central Kansas Association of Retired School Personnel.
Survivors include: One brother, Stanley Hogsett and his wife Sally of Danville, Ill.; one niece, Jennifer Kline and her husband Jeff of Covington, Ind.; two great nephews, A. J. Kline and Tyson Kline; and beloved dog Freddy Joe.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015, at Bryant Funeral Home in Great Bend. Burial. Interment will be at Vansburgh Cemetery in Brownell, Kan. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m., Friday, Jan. 2, 2015, at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015, at the funeral home.
