CHERRYVALE — Walter Frank Eilts, 74, Cherryvale, died on April 8. Born in Rush County on March 14, 1939, he was the son of Edward and Anna Eilts. In 1957 he graduated from Great Bend High School. He attended Salt City Business College. On Aug. 4, 1961, he married Phyllis Chapham.
Mr. Eilts served in the United States Army in Alaska and San Francisco, as well as serving in the Kansas Army National Guard.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis of Independence; two sons, Bradley Eilts of Independence and Barton Eilts of Glenview, Ill.; and five grandsons.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at Beckwith Mortuary in Larned. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Walt’s honor to The Alzheimer’s Association.
