OVIEDO, Fla. — Warren Eugene Kerbs, 88, died Dec. 28, 2011 at his home in Oviedo, Fla.
Born April 6, 1923 in Paxico, he was the son of Rhinehart Eugene and Elizabeth Isadora (Srajer) Kerbs. He was a 1941 graduate of Claflin High School. In 1948, he earned a bachelor degree in Business Administration from Indiana University. After graduation he owned Kerbs Grocery in Great Bend with his father for many years. He sold the store to become sales manager for Chevron Chemical Corporation. On Aug. 4, 1951 he married JoAnn Pundsack in Great Bend.
Mr. Kerbs was an active and supportive member of St. Stephens Catholic Community, Oviedo, Fla.
Survivors include his wife, Joann Kerbs, of the home; a son, Jon Kerbs and his wife Nancy, Natick, Mass.; two daughters, Dana Urrutia and her husband Leo, Lawrenceville, Ga.; and Tracey Lane, Hamden, Conn.; two sisters, Alice Hopkins, Overland Park; and Darlene Mathers, Great Bend; and six grandchildren, Kevin Kerbs, Megan Kerbs, Brian Urrutia, Laura Urrutia, Colin Lane, and Zachary Lane.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Gerald Kerbs.
Rosary will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Great Bend officiated by Father Don Bedore. Burial will be at the Great Bend Cemetery with military rites by Fort Riley Honor Guard. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.
